Referral Reactor is here to help you receive referrals while maintaining organization and effective communication with the referrer. Have you ever wanted to pay someone for a referral? Maybe you have even wanted to pay their supervisor for encouraging them to refer to you. Referral Reactor does it all! With Referral Reactor, referrers and their supervisors can send you a referral and you can give them a bonus as the status of the referral changes. The referrer will not only get paid through the app, but they can see the status (whether the referral will use you or not) as you update it along the way.

If you are a business interested in onboarding referrers, you can find more information of what you could accomplish with Referral Reactor on our Reactor page.

If you are a referrer who wants to understand what you can do with Referral Reactor, refer to our Referrers page.

A Reactor is the business that is receiving referrals! For some companies, they have different specialties within their main business. Different Reactors can give them a way to keep track of their referrals on, let’s say, the structure side, and their referrals from their main water restoration business.

You must go to paypal.com to sign up for your business account. You will need to link your bank account, move money from your bank account into your PayPal account, request access to the Payouts API, and copy your paypal Client ID and Secret into Referral Reactor. This can be a long process, taking anywhere from 3-7 business days.

This is due to authorizing important components on PayPal’s side. We have a whole page dedicated to setting up PayPal. Please refer to the PayPal Setup page for a detailed answer to this question.

The Payouts API is an API PayPal has developed. It is how Referral Reactor can tell PayPal that you want to send $100 to John, so PayPal can fulfill the request.

PayPal will have you fill out a questionnaire to request access to their Payouts API. You will generally hear a response back from them in 3-4 business days. To request this access you can go to https://www.paypal.com/merchantapps/appcenter/makepayments/payouts or refer to our PayPal Setup page.

To connect your PayPal account to your Referral Reactor account, you will need two pieces of information from your business developer dashboard. Don’t worry, you don’t need a developer to do this. It’s actually quite simple. Visit our PayPal Setup page if you need more help

  • Open a new tab and go to Referral Reactor. Log in

  2. Then, look through your email inbox for an email sent by PayPal. Follow the directions in that email message.
  3. Lastly, you will need to link a bank account.

This process is done through your dashboard. To transfer money, select “Add Money” and then follow the prompts.

Then you can scroll down to the second table of information provided. At the bottom it will say “Payouts” and will show you the status by giving a green checkmark or saying submitted.

A bonus payment is what you pay your referrer for the referral they sent to you. This payment can be made throught PayPal, Venmo, Check, or Cash. Regarding the Check or Cash option, Referral Reactor is there to help you keep a record of it after you give them the Check or Cash.

You can set your usual amounts to send based on the status of the referral. For instance, because you got an assesment with a referral, you pay the referrer $25. If you take the job, you pay the referrer $75. These amounts are configurable to fit your needs.

Instructions on how to use bonus payments and set amounts can be found on the Bonus Payments feature page.

Controls for changing the bonus amount are located in two different places.

Super Admins have the ability to change the permissions for every user in the Reactor. There are 4 different levels of permissions. Super Admins, Admins, Referrers, and No Access. Admins and Referrers each have a special permission that can be granted them by the Super Admin.

Permissions can also help if you need to add and employee to your reactor. Give them a referrer invitation code and then change their permissions from there!

To learn how to change these permissions, refer to our Permissions feature page for more info.

What To Know About REFERRALS

You can! Since they aren’t using the app, you can create an “unregistered user” on their behalf. This gives you the opportunity to add referrals as they come to that user. You can even give a bonus through PayPal or Venmo if that is a preferred method. When they do decide to join Referral Reactor and create an account, they are a registered user. Now you can merge your unregistered profile of them to their registered profile and keep all the history!

Refer to the question “Can I merge an Unregistered User and a Registered User?” to learn how to merge users. You can also go to our Unregistered and Registered Users page for more help.

To mark a referral as done, their status will need to be updated. Certain statuses will allow you to Mark as Done while others will not. Make sure you update the status to one that allows you to mark the referral as done.

You can also see the Bonus that was given and to whom it was given, the submitted date, and if it is done.

When you have selected the referral, you will see under Admin Actions the Update Status button. By selecting that you now view the current status and what you would like to change it to. You could even add a note! When you have selected the new status, the button that says Update Status will turn blue, allowing you to update.

What To Know About REFERRERS

If you would still like to use Referral Reactor to keep track of the unregistered users’ referrals, you can input the referrals yourself. Also, if they ever do create an account through Referral Reactor, you can merge the unregistered profile you created for them with their registered one and always have their full history!

Refer to the question “Can I merge an Unregistered User and a Registered User?” to learn how to merge users. We also explain this further with photos on our Unregistered and Registered Users feature page.

To set this up, you will first need to click on the profile of the manager/owner. Once you have that pulled up, there will be an Admin Actions box containing the button ‘Update Assoicated Users’. When you click that, you can search and add as many people as you would like. There is no limit!

You can make that staff member an associated user of that specific referral. You just need to pull up the referral and select ‘Manage’ on the Associated Users section of the profile.
